Three things that inspired me last week

  • My mum – I got to see my mum this Easter break which was great!! She is such a strong and beautiful person, she has the kindest soul, she thinks about others before she thinks about herself and she is a huge inspiration to me. She inspires me all the time!
  • Small business owners – I would love to have my own shop one day and people who are going after their goal really inspire me! I envy their courage to follow their dream. I visited this lovely shop in Hertford and got some lovely napkins for decoupage.
  • My fellow bloggers – even when I am on holiday I love to keep up to date with my favourite bloggers, their facebook pages and projects! I know it sounds quite sad, but I do get so much inspiration from others. Keep creating!

And finally….

Why I started the blog..

I have always been a creative person and loved making things, drawing, painting and generally creating something out of nothing! My imagination was running wild and I would imagine things differently to others.. I remember making a furry handbag out of an old hat, ripping my new jeans and making a skirt out of it… making one of a kind things..

As the time went, I became an adult and my priorities changed.. I worked and studied and thought I didn’t have any time for my hobbies.. there was always something else to do.. in the last few years I spent a lot of time on the internet and looking at other people creating things and I thought I could definitely do that.. so one day I decided that I should try and combine work, studying and my hobbies.. It is getting harder and harder to concentrate on the working part as I am always tempted to spend more time in my shed and paint or create something..

I loved the transformations I could do and loved recording my journey.. I shared my photos with my husband and my family, who were very encouraging and told that I should start my own business.. I wasn’t so adventurous and brave so instead I created the blog hoping that my work would inspire others to do something.. or at least try! Most importantly – don’t grow up, it’s a trap! Believe in yourself and follow your dreams.. even if it is one small step at a time 🙂
