Hi my lovelies! You are already familiar with The Fab Furniture Flippin’ Contest from my previous posts, so you know how super exciting it is!
I am part of the Fab Furniture Flippin’ Contest group and lucky enough to be in the mix with some super talented people who take part in this contest every month. I thought I missed my chance to take part in this month’s Fab Furniture Flippin’ Contest but lucky for me I was on the waiting list and (unlucky for someone) they had to drop out, but thank you for having me this month!!
This month’s theme is – “Icing on the Cake” and our lovely hosts are Evey from Evey’s Creations and Michelle from Dandelion Patina.
This month’s sponsor is D. Lawless Hardware they have such an amazing selection of drawer pulls and knobs as well as other products, don’t forget to take a look at their Facebook Page to see some great projects featuring their range.
Now the fun part..
I follow this contest very closely and always have an idea what I would do with each month’s theme.. This month as I didn’t think I will participate I didn’t really plan on anything.. When I got the message I was so excited I got to my sketch book out and started toying with ideas – Icing on the Cake… so I decided to update this old dressing table and create something pretty… so here is my take on this month’s theme.
This is the before picture …
I used some white chalk paint I made myself, which looks quite good for my first attempt and lovely chalk paint in Mother Duck.
The drawer pulls on the original piece were quite dated so I decided to put these lovely glass knobs on!! And this is after my “Icing on the Cake” magic. I hope you like it!!

This is gorgeous!! The piece itself is so unique with those fun drawers then the paint and the knobs take it up another couple of notches!! Love!!
stopping by from Home Matters Link up…. Love the drawer pulls. That extra bling just finishes it off.
Thank you Mary x
This is such an amazing idea! Thanks for sharing it. I’m Anita visiting from Artsy Fartsy Link Party.
So in love with your vintage vanity!!! The knobs you chose are stunning! I should use those on my next “glam” piece. You did an amazing job!!! 🙂
Thank you Robin x
My favorite hue for furniture painting, The hardware really brings in some bling and those swing out drawers, be still my heart. I could totally see this piece in my home decor! wonderful job!

Lovely transformation, Evija! Those drawer pull with all that bling really are the icing on the cake! It’s so much fun to co-host #OMHGWW with you! Have a beautiful rest of your week!
What a transformation! I love the colours and the way the light hits the handles and patterns the drawer. Well done!
What kind of paint ? Was it rolled on or sprayed on?
Thank you Diane. I used Frenchic chalk paint in Mother Duck and home made white chalk paint (any white chalk paint would work). I used a paint brush on this project. I hope it helps!
