This is day SEVEN of the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge and today’s project is a lovely Christmas Tree Ornament in the shape of Angel Wings.
I absolutely love any decorations that are related to angels and feathers. I decided to create some angel wings out of mdf board so I could decorate our tree and remember all those people that are no longer with us.
I drew a template on paper and traced it on the mdf board and my hubby then helped me cut them out using a jigsaw.
I sanded the wings first using some fine sandpaper and my dremel for a nice and smooth finish and to get some finer detail in the wings. I then drilled a hole for the ribbon.
I used some home-made chalk paint to paint them lovely and white.
I then decided to use some iridescent glitter (of course!!) I had to sprinkle the wings and then sealed with mod podge. I put some lacquer over to make the glitter even shinier.
I then put a lovely white ribbon on so the wings could be put on a Christmas tree and glued a little crystal on. I absolutely love how they turned out. I loved these decorations so much I ended up making a matching love heart and star/snowflake ornament too!
On the…. Day of Christmas Evija made….. ANGEL WINGS!!!
