Hi everyone.. here is the Day 9th of the Christmas Challenge and today I am sharing with you the vintage sign I made.
I found this beautiful image on Graphic Fairy and really loved it, so I decided to create a little vintage sign for my 9th challenge.
I used the mod podge transfer method for this project. First, you will need to print the image, but remember to print it in mirror image otherwise it will not work. Also, please use laser jet printer for this and not inkjet otherwise your image will bleed.
Simply cover the area with Mod Podge photo transfer and press the image on to the wood. Leave this to dry for 24 hours. I find this always the hardest part – waiting!
Once the paper is dry, you need to wet it with water and peel it off by rubbing the area with your fingers.
Keep rubbing the paper off until the paper has come off leaving the transfer on the wood.
You can add some dark wax for that vintage feel and also distress but this is totally optional. Once you are happy with the sign, seal it with clear varnish. Then simply add string and this sign can be put on the wall for a lovely vintage display.
On the 9th day of Christmas.. Evija made… VINTAGE SIGN!!!
