Hi everyone.. Today I will be sharing a very special post with you, which I have done in collaboration with The Stencil Warehouse. This will not only be a post about a fabulous makeover, but also your chance to enter the GIVEAWAY and win yourself not one but TWO beautiful A3 size stencils provided by The Stencil Warehouse worth over £30!!
I always use stencils from The Stencil Warehouse in all my projects as I absolutely love their designs and the quality is second to none. Not to mention the fabulous customer service! You may have seen my table makeover or the more recent TV cabinet makeover.
Now back to the post… I found this little coffee table and it was in pretty bad shape.. I love a bit of a challenge as you may know and I thought it could easily be fixed up and totally transformed!
The sides were damaged and ripped, so I used some wood filler and sanded over to get a nice smooth finish.
I used Annie Sloan’s chalk paint in Olive for the spindles and General Finishes Java Gel stain for the table itself. I thought it was a lovely contrast and the colours complimented each other nicely. I waxed the table using clear wax and then went over with dark wax to get a nice rustic feel to the table.
The top was a nice blank canvas for my stencil and the Cafe de Paris stencil was perfect for it!
I taped the stencil on the table and painted over it using the Annie Sloan’s chalk paint. Then simply removed the stencil while the paint was still wet. Once dry, I waxed over and the piece was done!!
What do you think?

When we moved into our house the previous owners left a very big oak wall unit in the dining room. We’ve been looking into ways on how to update it. We’ve been thinking of chalk painting, but was worried that it would look a bit plain, however, these stencils would be ideal to break up the light flat areas of paint.
An old TV unit and probably an old wardrobe that needs some tlc
art work and be very creative on walls
My daughter is crazy about all things Paris…I would put it on the wall in her bedroom.
I was just looking at my coffee table the other day thinking it might be time to get a new one. I didn’t think of stenciling it as an option to give it new life. What an idea.
I’d probably use it on a garden bench we have. Would be ideal for it.
I would decorate a piece of my furniture in the bedroom and have a vintage style.
I would love to brighten up an old side table in my lounge x
Currently redecorating my bedroom, would look lovely on our wardrobe or wall xx
