Today I am sharing with you another fun furniture makeover using the Old Fashioned Milk Company Products* (OFMP). Last month I showed you the sideboard I painted using OFMP in Pitch Black, OFMP in Snow White. If you missed it, you can see the sideboard makeover here. Today’s makeover will be using the exact same colours, but in different ratios, so the colour is totally different, but it just shows the endless possibilities using the OFMP paints!!
I was looking for a narrow cabinet for our bathroom and after visiting the local hospice shop, I finally found one that would be perfect for us! Here is the before photo.
It was in really good shape and nice and sturdy! I cleaned it using some sugar soap and once clean and dry it was ready to be painted. I used OFMP in Pitch Black, OFMP in Snow White, the ratio for this colour was 2:1 (two pitch black scoops and one snow white). It created a nice deep grey/blue/black colour. For this project again, I was not after a traditional chippy look, so for the first coat I added some OFMP Extra Bond, the second coat I put was without the extra bond.
As I wanted the colour to pop, I turned to my trusted friends in the Facebook Group and after some advice, opted to use some tung oil (links are below). I must say it is a match made in heaven! It did take a few days to cure, but the colour looks fabulous, if I say so myself.
I added some simple hardware and the makeover was done! This beauty will go in our bathroom, once it is finished (post to follow hopefully VERY shortly!!).
What do you think??
