This post is slightly different to my usual craft and DIY posts, but I have decided to try and do some personal posts on the blog so that you can also get to know me a little better. Today I wanted to do a little post about our plans for our 10th Wedding Anniversary! No, it is not a project or a gift idea made ouf of tin (apparently tin & aluminium is traditional for 10th wedding anniversary gifts..) but actually a gift we have given to ourselves – a trip to Italy, visiting Venice, Florence and Rome later on this year.
It is so easy to get stuck in a routine, especially as we bought our first house in 2016 and have been renovating, decorating and trying to sort it out since. We also both have a full time job and on top of everything else, I also run this blog and craft, create and make something whenever I can.. When I look back our last holiday was probably back in 2014 when we went to Turkey and spent 10 amazing days relaxing and enjoying ourselves.. That’s nearly 4 years ago..! As we live on the Isle of Man, we usually travel to see our families so it’s hard not only financially but also getting the time off work to do everything that we want..
This year we decided that the kitchen renovations can wait and we are going to be a little “selfish” and do something special for our anniversary.. We decided to visit Italy – place that I have always wanted to visit.. Our plan is to visit Venice, Florence and Rome and spend 10 days exploring this beautiful country!
I am now in planning mode and looking at all the places we would love to visit and see.
I absolutely cannot wait to see the beautiful architecture, artwork and enjoy food and wine with Shaun and celebrate the 10 happiest years of our lives!!
Have you ever been to Italy? Have you got any tips or suggestions?
