Hi everyone, today I am sharing with you a super-easy DIY to spruce up those old and tatty plant pots we all have at home. It is so easy to throw things out and buy new things, but trust me – by doing a little DIY you will not only save some money but also have one of a kind thing!!
I had several terracotta plant pots that were looking a little neglected so I decided to freshen them up. For this makeover I used some Deco Art chalky finish paint in grey colour.

It could not be easier! Simply clean and dry your terracotta pots and then they are ready to be painted.
I chose this gorgeous grey shade for my project, but you can choose any colour you wish!

I used two coats for each pot, sanding in between for a smooth finish. I then used some blue paint to bring out the detailing of my pot. I simply rubbed a little paint over the raised area and once dry, sanded it over to give it a little distressed look.
Once you are happy with it, wax over and buff. Now your old pots are looking brand new! You can mix and match your pots by painting them in different shades, adding some sparkle or distressing them – it is totally up to you. And if you have kids they can also join in the fun!!
Let me know what you think!
I like the pots and your idea to freshen them up!
Love this for my own inspiration! Thanks for sharing.
as always, great work, Evija! I love the chalk finishing
