Hi everyone I hope you have enjoyed my posts, where I shared our experience with buying our first home and the makeover process. You can catch up with our Dream Home posts here. We have worked very hard on making it our dream home and we can finally reveal the biggest project we have attempted so far – our hallway !!
Before you head over and see the reveal, here are some BEFORE pictures, so you can fully appreciate the makeover!
I can finally say it – our hallway makeover is FINISHED!!! *doing a happy dance* You may have seen in my previous posts that we encountered some issues with the walls and how it did not always go to plan, but we got there in the end! It has taken us several months to finish this project, but I could not be prouder to show this to you today!! We encountered some surprises along the way and not always good ones, but the hallway is looking even better than I could have imagined.
We had numerous debates about colours, wallpapers, flooring and surprisingly, both, my hubby and I reached an agreement when it came to this hallway.
We decided to use the landing wall as a statement wall and display the anniversary sign I made two years ago together with some very special photos.
We had the most amazing wedding photographer at our wedding almost 9 years ago and we can finally display our beautiful wedding photographs by the super talented photographer and good friend Andrejs Zavadskis in our home. To see more of his amazing work visit his homepage here.
If you remember from my previous post, there used to be a door here! We closed off the door and now it is a solid wall, perfect for a little mirror gallery wall!

Looks great Evijah! I like everything I see! Wedding pics look good below the window & against the wallpaper. Like the wood floors too. So fun to see home makeovers!
Thank you Florence! A lot of hard work but it turned out even better than we thought! Many more rooms to decorate, so there will be lots to share!!
Beautiful Evija!! Love everything about it!! Bye bye green carpet, hello gorgeous flooring. Besides it, the gallery wall and the wallpaper would be my favorite part
Thank you Pili!! We love it too, the gallery wall is my favourite as well, every time I walk past I remember our beautiful day!
Why did you paint the base board to the floor? Should have been the trim color as around the doors…sorry, just my thought…..
Thank you for your comment Nancy. It’s personal choice I guess. The wood was so gorgeous I thought it would be a shame to paint it white! My husband and I both love the oak effect.
Love your new hallway. And my favorite is wedding wall, so nice photos. We need to display our ones also more. Absolutely love colour of walls. Did you use hard using paint? With kids I’m looking for one witch really does a job and is available to buy in the UK.
Thank you Inese! I used Colours range from B&Q matt emulsion, it is durable (meant for kitchens and bathrooms), it said it was moisture, grease and stain resistant, you can wipe and clean it. Valspar also does a great range for tougher surfaces.
Thanks a lot, will check them out. X
Wow what a difference! It looks amazing, and I’m glad you’re so pleased with it! x
Eek I love this!!! What a difference it’s so light and stylish now. Love ❤️
What a transformation, I love the photo wall and the mirror is so nice x
What a beautiful and dramatic makeover! Your new hallway is gorgeous and it is so much lighter and more open. I love your wedding photo display and your new lighting fixtures are fantastic x
What beautiful results you have achieved. Your hall looks wondetful , it seems all the hard work has paid off.
You have achieved great results, the devoration is superb and very stylish.
Wow it’s amazing what a difference those personal touches make! I love the pictures and the frames. Where you get them from? Wish i was good with interior design matters x
Thank you Jodie. It’s a mixture of different frames I had accumulated throughout the years that I sanded and stained using dark wood stain to match the banister and skirting board . X
I like what you have done with the photos on the wall. I’m not a fan of laminate/hard wood flooring. This is just personal for me as i think carpet looks better and feels more homely x
Literally been doing the same in my home too. Our house is old and lacked any personality so we’ve just created a photo gallery wall in our hallway.
It looks so much brighter and alive now! I love it and the photo display is gorgeous!
Such an amazing transformation! We move into our DIY reno to-be home tomorrow and cant wait to do things like this to it.
xo
What a stunning change! I absolutely love the “Roberts” board and the photographs. The lights are pretty cool too x
Wow, it looks great now – so light and airy. I love what you’ve done with the mirrors.

What an amazing makeover, I am loving the wall decor and the change in flooring.
Hi. Would LOVE to recreate your wedding sign. What did you use to carve the lettering? And what I’d you use for the wedding rings?
Forgot to hit the notify me button. LOL So this comment is just so I can get notifications!
Thank you Jean ! There’s a tutorial on the blog which shows step by step actions. I traced the details on the wood and then carved them using a dremel. The rings are actually copper olives from a diy store ( as it was our copper wedding anniversary !!) here is the link for more info, hope it works and good luck ! Would love to see when you have finished your sign!! http://fromevijawithlove.com/2015/09/04/diy-wedding-anniversary-present/
The hallway looks so open and bright. Taking the carpet out made a huge difference. I have almost the same wood floor in my house–good choice;). #OMHGWW
It looks great I love the lights and the wedding band board. X
This is a stunning transformation and what a difference! You must be delighted with it.
Thank you Jane, extremely happy with the result! A lot of hard work went into this hallway! 🙂
I LOVE your wallpaper and gallery wall! Also, the carpet is perfect with the wallpaper and the wood floors in the hall are beautiful!!! The only thing I would change if it were my house would be the four mirrors, I would prefer if they were even for me, but that’s just me! I feel like I’m walking crooked with them uneven!!!
Thank you Beverly for your comments ! I totally get you it’s a personal choice for sure thank you for stopping by 🙂
All white..and looks fantastic and dreamy, Evija! Wonderful work as always..Happy #OMHGWW 🙂
