You may be thinking, that you have seen this chair makeover before and you won’t be wrong! This is the second time I will be upholstering it for our house. I did this chair around 3 years ago and used a shabby chic fabric (cringe at the photos!).
The times (and decor in the house) have changed and as I love this chair so much I did not want to get rid of it and instead decided to give it a little update!
As this chair was already painted white all I really needed to do was freshen it up with a lick of paint and add brand new fabric.
I found this gorgeous fabric on Spoonflower* called Charcoal Dots and chose the linen cotton canvas ultra finish, as it was described as working well for upholstery and domestic projects. If you are unsure on which fabric to pick, I highly recommend ordering the fabric sample pack. I am also planning on using the fabric on some matching cushions (watch this space).
I removed the old fabric and sanded the frame, then painted it using Annie Sloan in Old White and added a coat of wax.
Don’t forget to join me on Instagram to keep up with my latest projects, behind the scenes, videos and lots of updates AND Coco!! 🙂
I stapled the new fabric and voila! Quick and easy update on my old chair! It now fits perfectly in our new modern bedroom (reveal is coming soon, why not see my other bedroom projects below?)
** I have received the fabric of my choice from Spoonflower free of charge, however, all views, experiences and ideas are 100% my own! This post contains affiliate links.
